Giran is working well in obedience. I'm afraid though he is suffering from stage freight (or is it ME ? :-) ) His first games weren't too great, but we'll get there! Always room for improvement... Much room :-D

I took Giran to the Belgian coast on my day off last week. We both had a lovely day. The weather was excelent for swimming (that's what giran tells me - i didn't bring my swim suite :-) ) I enjoyed taking some nice pictures of my boy. Oh my god he really is grown up now! Last friday, Giran got his obedience certificate.He worked realy well and got 99/100!!!I'm so proud!We're now training to start competition in the fall.

Giran was selected BEST DOG at the Belgian Retreiver Clubshow in Turnhout.Off course I'm very proud of him! He won a second CAC championship point and is now 'ONLY' a working-test qualification away from becoming Belgian Champion ;-)

Today Giran received his first full International Championship (CACIB) point. And even better, he was also elected Best Of Breed!!! Of course I'm very happy with these results. He's really doing well at the shows lately. Here's two pictures of him with his little friend Mr. Maurice who came in first with the Jack Russel puppys!

Field training has started again. We've been training again for about 4 weeks now, and Giran is doing realy well! He has matured a lot since last year. He now shows a great will-to-please and enjoys working in the field.

Last week Belgium was pretty white!!!! And because I just bought a new camera I decided to take a day off and take my boy out in the snow. He was happy to see I arranged for his friend Tobias to join us! The guys had lots of fun together, and I had lots of fun taking pictures! Yesterday we went to the Winner Show in Amsterdam. It's the largest dogshow of the Netherlands, and this year 48 tollers entered!!! Giran entered in the intermediate group, together with 4 other dogs. It was a tough group with all experienced show dogs. So you can imagine we were very surprised and excited to end up 2nd!!! Second try 22 november in Aarschot!!!Fingers crossed!--> unfortunately we didn't succeed this time either :-( Giran just doesn't like to stay down for 2 minutes... On saturday 11 october we will try to get our obedience diploma (brevet). If we make it we will start training in the 'debutants' class, so we will prepare to participate in an obedience competition every now and then. I'm looking forward to that!Hopefully we succeed at the first try, we still have about 2 weeks to practice :-)Thumbs up everyone!

WE PASSED !!!Giran was second in his group. The result wasn't 'Excellent' but 'Good' :-)He was quite nervous during the test, because he wanted to go swimming strait away. But luckily I could get him to finish the exercises more or less as I wanted. So I'm still quite proud of our result. On Tuesday 19 august we will start agility training at LUPUS dogschool in Halen.I'm very excited to start and really looking forward to that. We've already done a workshop on agility and Giran really loved it. So I think he will be very happy doing it!

We have been doing field training with the Belgian Toller Club. Giran has proven to have a great instinct for this, and he's very enthousiastic to go to work. Sometimes he's even TOO enthousiastic and it is difficult to keep him waiting his turn quietly :-) Next sunday is the last trainingday this year, so there will be a working test. Hope everything goes well!!!
